Charlotte International Airport begins implementation of GateKeeper Commercial Vehicle Management Software
AUTOMATED DISPATCH MODULE REDUCES TAXICAB WAIT TIME AND BETTER MANAGES CAB QUEUE
MINNEAPOLIS, August 15, 2011—GateKeeper Systems, Inc., a leader in commercial vehicle management and parking access control systems, today announced that Charlotte International Airport will implement GateKeeper’s Commercial Vehicle Management (CVM) software.
As an RFID-based ground transportation system, GateKeeper’s CVM software automates many of the manual operational and administrative processes required to provide transportation for passengers arriving and leaving an airport. Of critical importance to Charlotte, one of the 15th busiest airports nationwide, is GateKeeper’s Automated Dispatch Module. This component reduces the response time for passengers waiting for taxicabs and ensures cab drivers are called in the proper sequence.
GateKeeper Systems was selected over other proposals in a competitive process. The installation will include six locations of RFID equipment, variable message signs to notify taxi drivers when they need to move to the terminal, and mobile devices for enforcement at the curb.
