MINNEAPOLIS, July 1, 2014—GateKeeper Systems, Inc., a leader in commercial vehicle management and parking access control software for airports, today announced that the Port of Portland Airport will implement GateKeeper’s Commercial Vehicle Management (CVM) software at Portland International Airport.
As part of an RFID-based ground transportation system, GateKeeper’s CVM software automates many of the manual operational and administrative processes required to provide transportation for passengers arriving and leaving an airport.
The new systems utilize GateKeeper CVM software, as well as the externally facing GateKeeper GSIVendor software, and address ground transportation management for commercial vehicle operations and employee parking management for parking operations. A key benefit for Port of Portland, currently the 30th busiest airport nationwide, is GateKeeper’s replacement of multiple legacy systems with a single solution which addresses all of the Port’s operational needs.
“We are pleased to be a part of this major system implementation project. Introducing a comprehensive technology based system will result in significant administrative and operational efficiencies for the airport staff and for the employees using the system,” said Lynn Richardson, President of GateKeeper Systems.
GateKeeper Systems teamed with RFID tag and reader manufacturer TransCore to submit a proposal for a turn-key system, which was selected over other proposals in a competitive process. The two systems, which will include 50 lanes of RFID equipment, are scheduled to be completed by October 2015.
